Hundred Wish Children Enter Ocean Kingdom at Summer Party 2017

The 12th Make-A-Wish Hong Kong Summer Party was successfully held on 12 August 2017. Thanks to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong for the ongoing sponsorship, we invited over 200 Wish Family members, medical professionals and volunteers to enter the Ocean Kingdom and join the exciting and challenging games hosted by our King of the Shark, Vivek!

Our Wish Children warmed up at the Sand Bottle DIY counter and photo booth once they arrived. They transformed into lovely ocean creatures and took beautiful pictures with guests! After the opening speeches by Mr Richard Greaves, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Dr Kevin CH Lau, the Chairperson of Make-A-Wish Hong Kong, Dr Lau presented a handmade 3D button painting with Wish Child Ho-lam to Mr Greaves so as to express our heartfelt thanks and announced the opening of the “ocean challenge”! Wish Children were divided into teams represented by ocean creatures, and they battled for the crown!

Before the great challenge, our participants enjoyed the wonderful sand painting performance and Wish Alumni sharing from Ethan, our happy cartoonist, who wished to share the power of a wish through his own comic book “Master Yan & Ball Jai”. The chef prepared ocean-themed tasty delicacies that none of us could resist, except for those who were eager to solve the riddles asked by our volunteers. The smart “little ocean creatures” bravely faced up to the exciting challenges, the “black world” and “cracking secret codes”, presented by our King of the Shark, Vivek. Our new King of the Ocean was crowned! All children received a big goodie bag and the party ended with joy and laughter.
