I wish to create Corny Ketchy to encourage others
Sophie, 9, B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia
“The day I get to hold Corny Ketchy in my own hands, I’ll feel proud of myself!”
Sophie, who was diagnosed with leukemia, struggled with emotional lows and increased appetite due to the side effects of steroids during her chemotherapy. Unfortunately, many of the food she craved—especially her favourite, corn dogs—were off-limits. Sophie, the passionate artist, had a spark of inspiration: to produce plush toys of Corny Ketchy, a lovely corn dog character that she created, as a gift to other children facing critical illness like herself.
She hopes that when they felt hungry or emotionally overwhelmed, hugging the plushie would bring them comfort and strength—to cheer themselves on and uplift one another. Sophie also donated Corny Ketchy to her school to thank her teachers and classmates for their continued support, and to share that same positive energy with them.
