Marathon Charity Programme of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026

Call For Wish Heroes to Run For a Wish

Make-A-Wish Hong Kong is delighted to be one of the selected charitable organisations of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026! With 30 quotas allocated specially for fundraising purposes, all proceeds will be used to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and support our hospital services.

Every 25 seconds, there is a child who is diagnosed with a critical illness. Serving as a supplement to medical treatment and complementing one another as acknowledged by healthcare professionals, we believe that a Wish Journey – through which a child articulates, refines and realises his/her wish – will bring a transformative impact not just to the child concerned, but also to the child’s family as they tackle some of their most difficult trials in life.

We now invite runners from all walks of life to be our charity runners, or donate to support our Wish Heroes, to make more Wishes come true, and empower children with critical illnesses with hope, strength and happiness.

Allocated Race Quota:

Full Marathon – 3 spaces (Min. Donation Amount: $3,000)
Half Marathon – 6 spaces (Min. Donation Amount $2,500)
10km Race  – 21 spaces (Min. Donation Amount: $2,000)

The charity quotas are served on a first-come, first-served basis.

FAQ

  1. Is it true that all my donations will be donated to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong?
    Yes.
  2. I have no experience in running a marathon, can I apply to be a Wish Hero?
Of Course! The 10km race is a great place to start. We are also arranging training sessions with other Wish Heroes, so you are not alone in this journey.
  3. Why is the application fee for the Marathon Charity Programme of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 more expensive than the public ballot registration?
The Marathon Charity Programme of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 aims to provide local charitable organisations with the opportunity to raise funds, making it different from public ballot registration. You are not required to pay your registration fee on your own. We encourage you to share your Wish to become a Wish Hero with your friends, teachers and family. We are here to support you by setting up your own fundraising page, so you can crowdfund via social media.
  4. If I have successfully registered for other races, can I still be a Wish Hero?
Of Course! We welcome you to join us by setting up your own fundraising page and practising with other Wish Heroes!
