I wish to go to Walt Disney World Resort
Nicole, 17, Systemic lupus erythematosus
“The Wish Allowed Me to Forget My Illness and Spend an Unforgettable Journey with My Family.”
Nicole was unfortunately diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus in 2019, an illness that confined her to a hospital bed for over 200 days, including more than two months in the intensive care unit. As there was no precedent for her condition, she had to undergo various medication trials for treatment, at times taking over 30 different pills in a single day.
Beyond the unconditional support from her family, what sustained Nicole’s spirit during her battle with illness was a heartfelt wish—to visit the world’s largest Disney theme park, Walt Disney World Resort. As her health gradually improved, her wish finally came true. The wish to visit Walt Disney World Resort became a source of strength for Nicole in her fight against illness, she was able to momentarily forget about her illness and fully immersed herself into Walt Disney World Resort. When her wish was granted, it not only provided her and her family with an unforgettable and joyful experience but also inspired her to face future challenges with courage and determination.
Nicole said, “This wish supported me to continue my treatment during my illness. The trip allowed me to forget all my pain and have an unforgettable journey with my family. I will keep pushing forward, cherish my health, face the future bravely, and believe that I will shine in the future!”
Nicole’s parent also shared, “The Wish Journey has allowed Nicole to restore her childhood which was stolen in the past 5 years, and has brought back her brightest smile.”
