I wish to go to Shirakawa-go

Ka Kwan’s Journey to the Snow
Enjoying the snowy winter scenery during a winter getaway is a travel checklist item for many of us. However, for Ka Kwan, who suffers from hydrocephalus and epilepsy, this wish is not so easy to fulfill. Since being ill, Ka Kwan’s physical abilities have gradually declined, and she can only rely on a wheelchair to get around, greatly limiting her travel opportunities.
The Wish Team learned that Ka Kwan wanted to see the snow, so they recommended Shirakawa-go, a dreamlike village blanketed in snow. Ka Kwan thought that this place was very close to the snowy landscape she envisioned in her heart and was deeply interested! Ka Kwan was both excited and moved when she eventually was able to see the snow in person and experience the winter wonderland, her face revealing a long-lost bright smile. Her mom shared with us, “Ka Kwan is gradually learning to accept her illness and is grateful for the support from Make-A-Wish, which helped make her Wish come true!”
