“I wish to have a birthday party with my family and friends”
– Chung-yan, 7, Acute Leukemia
After diagnosed with acute leukemia, Chung-yan stopped going to school and she misses her friends very much. She wishes to have a Rainbow-themed birthday party to share happiness with all her family and friends.
In preparation for her first-ever birthday party, Wish Team was determined to make it a memorable one. We specially created a rainbow-themed design for her invitation card, decorations as well as a guest signature card. On her Wish day, our Wish team created a lot of surprises for Chung-yan at her 7th birthday party: a gems catcher, some claw machines and a performance by magician. Before the birthday cake cutting moment, we played a surprise video prepared by Chung-yan’s school friends.
Chung-yan expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone through her speech, “Thank you, my family, especially my mother, father, grandfather, and grandmother, and friends for staying with me all the time when I was in hospital and under treatment. And thanks to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong who created this birthday party for me so that I could share the happiness with my beloved ones!”
