I wish to go to the Maldives

Tsz Pui, 17, Alexander’s Disease

My family and I went on a long-awaited dream vacation!

“It’s such a miracle to visit the Maldives with my family.” Tsz Pui shared.

Tsz Pui, who has limited mobility caused by the disease, has always dreamt of visiting the Maldives and the beaches there on a specially designed wheelchair. Last summer, he has finally realized his Wish to visit the Maldives.

Tsz Pui, a teenager who has always been lively and active, has a great love for sunshine and beaches, his speech and mobility, however, have been affected since he was diagnosed with Alexander’s Disease at the age of 9. Despite this, he maintains a positive attitude towards his condition️, and even took up the challenge to join the speech festival and won an award.

The persistence and the spirit that he has shown have touched the Wish Team. Although it was challenging to realize Tsz Pui’s Wish, we tried our best to arrange transportation and accommodation in the Maldives that suit his needs. He was able to move freely on the beach in a specially designed wheelchair to experience the beauty of nature. What makes the trip so special and memorable to Tsz Pui is the opportunity to go snorkeling in the sea, getting up close with various marine creatures, for example sea turtles, manta ray, and even the adorable dolphins.

After Tsz Pui’s long-awaited trip to the Maldives was realized, it brought him boundless motivation and creative inspiration. Despite the impact of the illness on his physical abilities, he dedicated double the patience and time to capturing his joyful memories in the Maldives with his paintbrush, infusing his life with even more colours and positive energy.

Tsz Pui faces the adversity with unwavering determination and continuously seeks breakthroughs. He courageously embraces new experiences and becomes a role model for those around him. Last year, Tsz Pui was awarded the “U At Top Outstanding Students Award” in recognition of his positive attitude, perseverance, and the way he used his own stories to inspire and help others.
