I wish to have a room makeover
Ka Ming, 10, Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystophy
Celebrating Ka Ming’s Wish to Have a Room Makeover Came True at Ngong Ping!
Before being diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, Ka Ming was just a typical boy growing up in an ordinary family. He went to school and played with his older brother like any other children. However, everything changed at the age of 6 when the illness struck.
This sudden disease caused muscle weakness in Ka Ming’s face, arms, legs, and other parts of his body, leaving him reliant on a wheelchair for mobility. He also experienced breathing difficulties, requiring him to use a ventilator and suction machine to sustain his life.
As Ka Ming grows older, he needs more space to store medical equipment and devices. At that time, Ka Ming, who shared a room with his parents, wished for a room of his own. The Wish Team came to the rescue and transformed the unused room of their home into Ka Ming’s new bedroom.
Understanding that Ka Ming had limited opportunities for outings due to his body limitations, the Wish Team, in collaboration with the Porsche volunteer team, invited Ka Ming and his family to experience the Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride in December last year. They enjoyed breathtaking views of Lantau Island from the crystal cabin to celebrate Ka Ming’s wish coming true!
As it was close to Christmas, Ka Ming had a wonderful time playing various games at the Ngong Ping Village, and Ngong Ping 360 even arranged for Santa Claus to join them in celebrating the holiday season! The Porsche volunteer team helped capture precious memories with photographs and presented Ka Ming with gifts, creating a joyous and memorable Wish Day for him.
