Sze Ki, 7, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

I can finally meet my beloved companion, Cinnamoroll!

For Sze Ki, Cinnamoroll is not just her favorite cartoon character, but also a good friend who  accompanyed her through the ups and downs of her cancer journey. Whenever she mentions Cinnamoroll, a radiant smile lights up her face. She knows everything about Cinnamoroll, including its gender and hobbies. As a super fan of the Sanrio character, Sze Ki’s Wish was to meet Cinnamoroll and spend some joyful moments together.

Upon learning of Sze Ki’s interest in drawing and other arts and crafts, the Wish Team collaborated with Sanrio Hong Kong to prepare a surprise meeting with Cinamoroll. In addition, they arranged a Kyo-Yuzen stencil art workshop for her and her family to participate in, where Cinnamoroll’s patterns would be imprinted on dresses and tote bags, adding more colors to her Wish Journey.

Precious Family Time
On the Wish Day, Sze Ki’s parents brought her to the event venue, where the room was filled with decorations of Cinnamoroll, heightening her anticipation to meet her favorite character! When she saw the colorful paints and the cardboards with Cinnamoroll designs on the table, her face lit up with joy. She couldn’t wait to pick up a paintbrush and start designing her own dress.

With a wagging tail and a cheerful smile, Cinnamoroll arrived! Sze Ki immediately greeted her cartoon friend with a big smile and gave her a warm hug. She then held its hand and picked cardboards with different designs to get ready for the upcoming workshop.

Sze Ki and her parents unleashed their creativity by imprinting Cinnamoroll and various designs onto the fabric. Sze Ki’s father, who often has to work and couldn’t spend much time with her, was able to set aside the stress of work and medical treatment on the Wish Day. It provided an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy each other’s company and create heartwarming moments together.

Hugged Cinnamoroll Tight to End the Wish Day
As the time came to bid farewell, Cinnamoroll presented her with a beautifully sparkling gift box. In return, Sze Ki also handcrafted some DIY gifts for Cinnamoroll while waiting for her Wish to come true, and she finally got to present these lovely gifts to her favourite character!

She held the soft and cuddly Cinnamoroll tightly, spinning around slowly and saying goodbye, reluctantly bringing an end to this enchanting day. 

The Wish Team and volunteers were deeply moved and, at the same time, grateful for the opportunity to create these precious memories for Sze Ki. Through her meeting with Cinnamoroll, we hoped to bring her an extra dose of motivation and positivity and remind her that she was never alone in her battle against the illness.
